From March through Mid-December we will service your lawn by mowing the turf at the ideal height for growth and health of the grass weekly. Using a mulching mower we leave the nutrients in the lawn by cutting the grass several times before letting it fall back to soil. Mulching also eliminates the grass clippings from being thrown into the landscape areas or being left on top of the lawn. We will edge the lawn along the driveway, sidewalks, patios and blow debris off these hardscape areas. 

Having the soil tested is the first step to a healthy lawn. Without a soil test you are trying to guess what nutrients your lawn needs, doing this can get too much of one nutrient and not enough of another. We don't feed ourselves without knowing what we need to be healthy and strong, we shouldn't try to feed our lawns without knowing what they need. At Landscape and Turf Solutions we start taking samples in January and February so we know what is required before the turf starts growing.

Since the lawn is alive and growing it needs regular feeding and care. We do this by having a program of 5 fertilizer treatments per season. The lawn responds to these treatments quickly and is stronger and able to handle stress from traffic and the weather. We offer Organic/Natural treatments on the different grass varieties (synthetic treatments are available) to make sure that the grasses get the nutrients that they require. 

Having a healthy soil is the most important component when it comes to growing anything. At Landscape & Turf Solutions we use an Organic probiotics Soil treatment teaming with over 800 species of active microbes. The microbes including plant growth promoting bacteria and mycorrhizae, stimulate healthy growth in plant foliage and roots. Microbes balance the soil ecosystem, providing a happy habitat for happy plants. They also increase tolerance to stress from weather and traffic. 

Landscape and Turf Solutions controls the weeds in your lawn, by applying a pre-emergent herbicide  in late February early March (dependent on the weather) before the weeds begin to grow. We also apply a pre-emergent in October / November for the weeds that grow in the winter. During the growing season April through November we apply a selective post- emergent herbicide monthly to rid your lawn of the weeds that can interfere with the growth of the grass. 

When it comes to the insects and diseases that will attack your lawn constant monitoring is required. By monitoring we can apply controls before they have time to create a big problem. We are continually receiving updates of pest movements and new pest to watch out for. We apply preventive treatments on a monthly basis rotating products to keep the insects & diseases from developing resistance to the treatments. 

As an essential piece of the lawn maintenance program. Core Aerating of the soil creates voids in the compacted soil so water, oxygen, and food can now reach the roots allowing for better uptake of these essential nutrients. This results in a deeper, stronger, longer root system and a greener healthier lawn. We recommend aerating 2 times a year in spring around April and in fall around September (at the very least in fall) along with overseeding of the lawn at the same time.

Have Landscape and Turf Solutions cleanup your landscape in the Fall. Leaves are picked up from the turf and planting areas after they have fallen usually in October or November. Leaving the leaves on the turf can kill the grass and can also kill the plants if left on them for a long period of time. Leaves also make a good cover for rodents to move into. They will keep the turf from being able to dry out after a rain which is an ideal condition for diseases to start.

Landscape and Turf Solutions cleans your turf and landscape areas in the spring to remove debris left from the winter. Winter weather can brake limbs and twigs from trees that need to be cleaned up before pre-emergent applications are made and mowing begins. At this time any leaves that have fallen or blown onto the property since the fall cleanup was preformed are removed. This is a good time to scout the turf areas for any disease problems caused by the winter weather.
